Early Mornings with Elizabeth, Friday, February 24, 7:30 -9 am, Turtle Bread (4762 Chicago Ave). Please join us Friday February 24 for Early Mornings with Elizabeth, as we learn about State and City Redistricting (speaker TBD) and as we honor the Ward 8 Community Leader recipients for 2011. We are pleased to recognize:
- The Lee Family Commemorative Event Committee
- Scott Bordon, for leadership in founding the Lyndale Walking School Bus
- Evette McCarthy, business owner and neighborhood resident, for engaged leadership of the 38th and Chicago Business Association, the Bryant Neighborhood Organization, and the Bancroft Neighborhood Association
- Doris Christopher, for a lifetime of past and current community leadership in her neighborhood and the City of Minneapolis

Urban Arts Academy Preschool Open Houses

Are you or is someone you know looking for a preschool for the Fall? Urban Arts Academy is hosting two Open Houses for families interested in learning more about our preschool. Join us on March 14th from 5:00p – 6:30p or April 14th from 10:00a – 11:30a to see our classrooms, meet our teachers, and see what we’re all about!
Urban Arts Academy is a nonprofit organization in South Minneapolis that uses art as the tool to enhance a child’s natural desire to explore and create. We offer a flexible weekday program for children ages 3-5. We build sculptures, work in clay, speak Spanish, bang on drums, and have a great deal of fun!
