Noise walls have been constructed this summer on Stevens and 2nd Avenue as part of the Urban Partnership Agreement. MnDOT has developed a proposed landscaping plan for the areas along the noise walls, from 35th Street to 42nd Street on 2nd Avenue South, and along Stevens Avenue from 38th Street to 42nd Street. (Areas south of 42nd Street are part of the Crosstown Commons project, which has its own budget for landscaping).
The plan includes additional trees, shrubs, and vines to be planted along the noise walls, and some perennials in certain locations. Plantings would occur in Spring 2010, and would ensure watering and maintenance for a two year period after planting.
Come to view the plan and give your input! This plan will soon be posted as part of the MnDOT UPA website. www.dot.state.mn.us/upa/
