In 2012, four people will be elected to the Minneapolis School Board. There will be a change this year in how Minneapolis Board of Education members are elected, based on the outcome of a referendum passed in 2008. This year members will be elected in districts that coincide with Minneapolis Parks and Recreation Board Districts, 2, 4, and 6, there will also be one at-large member elected. In the past all School Board Members were elected at-large.
As District 6 neighborhoods, the Kingfield and Lyndale Neighborhood Associations are hosting a District 6 Candidate Forum. The purpose of this forum is purely informational and is intended to provide all interested residents with the opportunity to get to know the candidates. You can find a map of the districts here.
