This week’s Southwest Journal highlights the growing “Campaign for Canines” working to bring an off-leash area to MLK Park. Check out video from the Earth Day clean up!

More than 80 residents from Kingfield and a wide array of surrounding neighborhoods came out last week to an informational meeting hosted by Park Board commissioners, to show their support. Councilmember Elizabeth Glidden highlighted the broad support represented. Next step for the proposal: MPRB staff and committee work with Dogpark Task Force leaders to analyze the proposal in detail.

And the Kingfield Dogpark Task Force debuted their new T-shirts, and they were a big hit! Due to overwhelming demand we are in the process of printing more t-shirts. They will be available at The Talent Show June 5 & 6 and at the First Kingfield Dogpark Yappy Hour on June 19, held at 4244 Nicollet Ave South, more details coming soon! T-shirts are free for anyone donating $20 or more to KFNA, for support of the dogpark project. Tshirts

The proposal is still in process with the Park Board. At the last community meeting they held, there was opposition to the idea. Check out the Southwest Journal article for more on this. Community input is still needed.
