Kingfield Block Walkers serve as a volunteer citizen patrol, providing extra eyes and ears for the police and for the neighborhood. Patrols in the Kingfield Neighborhood are conducted on a completely voluntary basis during daylight and early evening hours. Participants receive safety training, and are provided with a detailed description of their duties and guidelines to assist them to clearly understand their responsibilities and objectives.
Volunteers are encouraged to walk at least two hours a month, in pre-determined areas at designated times with other Block Walkers. They are welcome to bring their well-behaved dogs, push baby strollers, and even ride bikes while on patrols. Block Walkers NEVER walk/patrol alone, and NEVER confront suspicious people or cars. They are encouraged to meet our neighbors and provide information about events and activities taking place in Kingfield.
