This event is a community builder for the neighborhood and a fundraiser for Nicollet Square, which is home to 42 formerly homeless youth who can now call Kingfield their home. In fact now, with the building being open two years, some of these youth have been at home in our community for longer than they were homeless.
“Empty Bowls” is an event where we share what Kingfield Neighborhood does best: hosting events, being friendly, creating community, and serving great food! And then we give the proceeds away to help an organization in our neighborhood. At this one-night event, we collect handmade bowls and invite the community to join us for a soup dinner. For a suggested donation of $20 community members eat dinner with us and take the bowl home as a reminder of our many neighbors that are in need of food and shelter. Last year this event drew over 200 people and raised over $4000 for Nicollet Square.
