Lyndale School, our newly assigned community school, wraps up it’s Pennies for the Playground Campaign.
Students and local businesses have been collecting donations for the past few months to help replace a slide and other equipment at our newly assigned community school, Lyndale School, that were lost over the summer due to vandalism. At a celebration on Friday, December 18th, the children were presented with a “check” for approximately $7,000! A HUGE thanks goes out to Julie Allinson & Paul Erickson, from Eyebobs on Lake Street, who generously donated $5,000 after learning of our community school’s plight. Additionally, we would like to thank all the local businesses (and business association) who helped raise funds for the playground:
Currans Restaurant
Gigi’s
The Anodyne
Butter Bakery & Cafe
Ace Nicollet Hardware
Peter Pan Cleaners
The Chair
Amigo Automotive
Colonial Cleaners
Java Jacks
Guse Hardware
Lake Harriet Veterinary
Champions Bar & Grill
Get Polished
The Lyndale Neighborhood Association
Watch for an invite to the “groundbreaking” ceremony for our new playground equipment this spring or next fall!
