A veteran Minneapolis police officer whose work organizing a law enforcement conference was under investigation has left the department.
Lt. Marie Przynski, who had been on paid leave for at least several weeks, no longer works for the department, according to Deputy Chief Robert Allen. It wasn’t clear whether she was fired or resigned.
Przynski had been the subject of an internal affairs investigation that examined financial transactions in connection with her work as a coordinator for the International Association of Women Police, which has a conference scheduled for this fall in Minneapolis. The department has not disclosed results of that investigation.
Przynski was head of the department’s narcotics unit when it was disbanded in September. Chief Tim Dolan said at the time that the move was necessary to save money.
