We’re walking… and biking… and pushing strollers… and bringing the dog, while we help make Kingfield a safer neighborhood. Join the new Kingfield Block Walkers for exercise, camaraderie, and to be additional eyes and ears on our blocks. The Crime Prevention and Safety Committee will be hosting an orientation on Tuesday, September 16th at 7pm at MLK Park (4055 Nicollet Avenue South). Representatives of the Minneapolis Police Department will be there to talk about current crime patterns and to train volunteers on how to be a safe and effective block patrol. Many Minneapolis neighborhoods have had walking patrols for years, and people that volunteer love the opportunity to meet their neighbors and feel like they are making a difference in their community.
Need a babysitter in order to join us? We will have free childcare available if you send an e-mail to ASAP! We need at least 5 kiddos to have the babysitters on hand.
Interested, but can’t make it to the orientation on 9/16? Please send an e-mail to to make sure you don’t miss your chance to get involved!
