RE:Â Nicollet Ave Reconstruction
Dear Nicollet Avenue Property Owner/Tax Payer,
The City of Minneapolis is preparing to reconstruct Nicollet Avenue between Lake Street and 40th Street for a total length of 1.2 miles. The project will include new pavement, with new curb and gutter, sidewalk, turf boulevards, trees, and utility work as needed. The project is planned to be constructed in the 2012 and 2013 construction seasons.
The project is estimated at approximately $12 Million. The project will be partially funded by assessments, approximately $1.7 Million, and the remainder will be local and state dollars.
A Public Hearing for the project will be held during the Transportation and Public Works committee of the Minneapolis City Council on Tuesday January 17th at 9:30a.m.
The pre-assessment public hearing meeting is scheduled for 6:00 PM, January 10, 2012, at the 5th Precinct Community Room. The main purpose for the meeting will be to discuss assessments. We will provide information on how they are calculated, when they would start to be collected, how they could be collected.
