Thomas and Sons is paving the intersection of 35th and Nicollet. The intent is to get one layer of asphalt down today along with a concrete bus stop pad and the Super America driveway (weather permitting). The intersection of 35th and Nicollet should be re-opening on Monday, July 23rd, weather permitting. When the intersection is reopened, there will be stop signs in place until the permanent traffic signal is completed. Thomas and Sons is scheduled to begin removals between 35th St and 32nd St next Tuesday. This will result in Nicollet Ave being closed between 35th St and 32nd St. Local access will be maintained, more information will be shared on this as it’s available. They will minimize the parking restrictions as much as possible outside of the construction zone. All businesses will be open.
Minneapolis Water is finishing the water main cleaning and lining process between 32nd St and 36th St. There are some water hydrants that will need to be replaced before the main can be fully put back together. They will also need to do testing before they can change services back to the main from the temporary main. More information will be shared as it’s available. In the Phase 1 area… Minneapolis Traffic will be installing the new street lighting between Lake St and 32nd St. Thomas and Sons will soon be finishing the sidewalk with concrete and tree grates.

The City has relaxed signage restrictions and eliminated permits for Nicollet Ave businesses affect by construction.
UP-COMING MEETINGS Stakeholder construction updates Public Works will hold stakeholder construction update meetings on Tuesdays at 11am at the Lyndale Neighborhood Association office, 3537 Nicollet Ave.
OTHER CONSTRUCTION INFORMATION CenturyLink is finishing their work on their manhole on 32nd St E near the alley. When that manhole is finished, they intend to leave the project area and return in early August to work on a manhole at the Nicollet Ave and 36th St intersection. More information will be shared as it’s available. Center Point has completed most of their work in the project area. There is some restoration work remaining.
