Robbery Suspect Arrested

October 23, 2009 (MINNEAPOLIS) Today the Minneapolis Police Department Robbery Unit announced that a suspect had been arrested and charged in connection with a robbery case in south Minneapolis. This same suspect has been identified in two other cases.
On October 19th at 2:15 p.m. a suspect entered the Candy Jar in the 3800 block of Cedar Avenue South and robbed the business. The suspect fled on foot. During the course of the investigation a suspect was identified and arrested in October 21st in Brooklyn Center. The suspect, Dwayne NMN Murray (Date of birth 6-27-1963), was charged yesterday with:
Simple Robbery 609.24 (Felony)
As investigators worked on this case they were able to tie Murray to two other robbery cases in south Minneapolis.
On September 25th the Ebu Design Jewelry store in the 1500 block of East 46th Street was robbed by a lone male. On October 17th the Lake Harriet Florist in the 5000 block of Penn Avenue South was robbed by a lone male. Murray has been identified as the suspect in both of these cases. Further criminal charges are expected as these investigations, and possibly others, continue.
