Wednesday, April 1, 6:00-8:00 pm
St. Peter’s AME Church, 401 East 41st Street
Refreshments provided. All voices welcome!
How can our community benefit from growth? We will learn about local, community, and cooperative ownership models, discussing how these models might fit development opportunities in the East 38th Street area for businesses and housing and build our community’s wealth.
Featuring inspiration from:
- Gary Cunningham, co-founder of the former Bryant-Central Coop and Executive Director of Metropolitan Executive Development Association (MEDA)
- Jeff Washburn, Director of City of Lakes Community Land Trust-promoting perpetually affordable home ownership opportunities
- Leslie Watson, co-founder of the NorthEast Investment Cooperative (NEIC) a model allowing neighbors to collectively pool their resources to buy, rehab and manage commercial and residential property
- Sean Doyle/LaDonna Sanders Redmond, Seward Community Coop- a member owner, member governed business under construction in our neighborhood today
We look forward to seeing you! Questions? Contact the Ward 8 City Council Office at (612) 673-2208 or
