  2. Ice Rescue Demo | Saturday, February 8th, 2:00 PM | East Harriet Farmstead Park Ice Rink, Minneapolis

Almost every winter, somewhere in Minnesota, someone falls through the ice and drowns. When is ice safe? There really is no sure answer. In fact, ice is probably never 100 percent safe but we all go out on it regardless.

What should you do if you fall through the ice? First, try not to panic. This may be easier said than done, unless you have worked out a survival plan in advance. If you should fall through the ice, MFD’s upcoming presentation could save your life!

Join Minneapolis Fire Department for a show and tell of equipment they use for ice rescue, some tips on how to prevent falling through the ice, and what you should do if it ever happens to you or someone you are with.

Come early and help construct a Snowman Village on the side of the rink! This part of the event is sponsored by the Minneapolis Park and Rec Board and occurs from 12:00-2:30 PM, both clothing for your snow people and decoration for the village will be provided!

Organized by the Kingfield Neighborhood Association Crime and Safety Committee & East Harriet Farmstead Crime, Safety, Transportation and Noise Committee

    Got questions? Contact cheryl@kingfield.org
