    Butter Bakery Café invites neighbors to participate with them in this spring's Growing Community - Growing Locally garden efforts!

    April 30th, 1 pm - 5 pm. Join us at the Butter community table to start seedlings, talk gardening, put together outdoor planters, and lend a hand to the residents of Nicollet Square as we help them prepare their backyard garden for this new growing season.

    The City of Minneapolis Development Review Customer Service Center – the place where you can get a permit for all your building or remodeling projects – is having a Spring Open House on Wednesday, April 30th for Minneapolis Residents! This is a great opportunity to take a tour of the center, meet city staff and ask questions about your projects, meet Mayor Hodges and Minneapolis Council Members, attend free informational sessions on home building projects, green initiatives, health home living environments, and more!

    Neighbors are always invited to come hear what the board is working on or bring their questions or concerns before the board. Community Forum is at the beginning of each meeting. This time is reserved for neighbors that want to come share news or ask questions. If you need more than 1-2 minutes, please contact Executive Director, Sarah Linnes-Robinson at sarah@kingfield.org and ask if there is time on the agenda for a more in depth discussion.


  6. KFNA Community Garage Sale | Saturday, May 17, 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM

    Got clutter? Start sorting through your stuff and join us for the annual Kingfield Neighborhood Community Garage Sale! The event will be held on Saturday, May 17th.

    Why should you participate in this group sale date? The more people participating, the bigger the buzz, and the more foot traffic we will generate throughout the neighborhood. Applications and more information are available at KFNA's Facebook Page and at www.Kingfield.org, or stop by the office to pick up a copy! Applications due to the KFNA office on Tuesday, May 13th!

    Reduced price for a block sale ($25) versus an individual sale ($10) so rally your neighbors to participate too! PLUS…pick-up arranged for all participating sales of un-sold items for donation to the Disabled American Veterans!

    Mark the date and start marking those items to sell!

  9. Another Great KFNA Babysitter (& Family) Speed Dating Event | Tuesday, May 20th, 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM | MLK Park Arts & Crafts Room, 4055 Nicollet Avenue South, Minneapolis

    Just in time for summer “family planning”! If you live in or near Kingfield neighborhood, come to the 3rd Babysitters and Families Speed Dating Event at MLK Park 4055 Nicollet Ave. South! Babysitters and families will meet each other for 5 or so minutes (depending on how many people we have).

    Babysitters: Bring 20 copies of a flyer about yourself including name, number, email, available days & times, and your rate. You can be as creative in sharing anything else on your flyer as you like.

    Families: Bring your kids and your ideas for other family-friendly activities in Kingfield! We will have a survey that you can complete to help us offer more opportunities for our KFNA families with young children.

  10. Red Cross Baby Sitter Training for Youth | Classes are on two consecutive Saturdays, May 31 and June 7, 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM | Registration Opens April 30th | MLK Park, 4055 Nicollet Avenue South, Minneapolis

    In collaboration with the American Red Cross, the Kingfield Neighborhood Association is offering a Certified Course of the Red Cross’ Babysitter Training. This hands-on course, which takes about 6 hours, is designed for students ages 11 to 16, and provides the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly care for infants and children up to the age of 10, as well as to manage a babysitting business.

    This class usually costs $85, but with scholarship money available from the Red Cross, KFNA is able to offer the class for a $10 (non-refundable) registration fee; the class is open to a maximum of 16 participants. Space in the class will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis, and priority will be given to residents in the Kingfield neighborhood.

The Kingfield Neighborhood Association (KFNA) manages this List for the purpose of informing neighbors of events and issues that directly affect Kingfield neighborhood. This list is never shared nor sold to any other organizations. Kingfield is defined as 35W to Lyndale Avenue South and from 36th Street through 46th Street. All List recipients are invited to share neighborhood news with other members by sending messages to sarah@kingfield.org ; please indicate in the subject line that it is a message for the Kingfield E-mail List. All messages submitted by members for consideration of inclusion on the List must include complete contact information including name, phone, and email address. All messages will be screened and no partisan political messages will be posted. Ballot initiatives are not considered partisan political activity, and are permitted activities under KFNA's 501(c)(3) tax status.

The List Administrator will make the final decision as what information is posted to the Kingfield E-mail List and maintains the right to edit all messages. Many messages concerning neighborhood issues or questions we will simply answer directly, rather than posting to the entire list. Notices may also, or instead, at List Administrator's discretion be posted on the KFNA website
