In light of our frigid weather, City staff report that shelter beds have been added for single adults this week. Almost all shelter is currently accessible 24 hours a day and all shelters have made accommodations to be CDC-compliant. While there may be hesitation to seek a shelter bed, anyone currently sleeping outside is encouraged to contact Hennepin County’s Adult Shelter Connect at 612-248-2350 from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday or 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on weekends and holidays, or after 7:30 p.m. nightly. More information is available here. Additionally, any families in need of shelter should call 612-348-9410 to speak to a shelter representative. City staff reports there is ample capacity for families who need shelter during this time as well.
