The next book discussion for the Building Bridges Multicultural Book Club will be Tuesday, December 6, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. We’ll meet at Hosmer Library, 347 East 36th Street, but in the tutoring room upstairs instead of our usual place in the basement. (That’s election night, and the community room is a polling place.)
December’s book is The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks — please bring one or two questions you’d like to discuss.
For January and February’s meetings, we’ll discuss The Warmth of Other Suns by Isabel Wilkerson. It’s a wonderful chronicle of the migration of 6 million blacks from the South to the North between World War 1 and 1970. Because it’s such a long book, we figured we’ll discuss the first half in January and the second half in February.
