Thank you for Voting, Kingfield!

November 10, 2020 By Sarah

Numbers (and votes!) are still being tallied but all signs point to record numbers of votes cast in Minnesota, Hennepin County, AND Kingfield neighborhood! Voting is just one action to create change in our community and we hope you plan to continue the work of shaping the kind of world that you want to live in.

One action to take following the election this week is to make sure that your immediate neighbors are connected to each other and to KFNA. Forward this email to your Block List or post on it your Block Facebook Group and remind everyone to sign up for this weekly communication. Alternatively many of them can respond by clicking on the confirmation link that KFNA already sent to the hundreds of people that asked to be on this list on election day. Sign up at https://kingfield.org/enews-subscription/ .

Also make sure that you know who your KFNA Block Contact is (and make sure that your block has one!) Contact KFNA at to be connected to your Block contact or to volunteer to serve in the role for your block. Volunteer Job Description here:

KFNA needs a Block Contact willing to be our connection on every block. This person will figure out how to print and deliver written communications, as needed, and also work to collect contact information for every household on their block so no one is left out. During the COVID-19 pandemic it is critical that we can reach people quickly, and not have to rely on the internet or the US Postal Service. Sign up here if you can serve in this role for the coming year 2021: bit.ly/KingfieldBlockContact; if your block already has a contact we will connect you to them, and if not, you will serve as KFNA’s block contact!

If you signed up as a Block Contact in early 2020 to assist with sharing information regarding COVID-19 and you have moved, or need to pass the responsibility to another neighbor, please notify KFNA at .

A short statement about the upcoming election and potential actions in the coming days: Many of you have already cast your ballot and are looking forward to November 3rd. However, according to the high number of mail-in ballots across the country, it is very likely that the results of the election on November 3rd will not be known that day. If you are interested in when ballots can be counted in various states and when election results might be known in each please visit the following resource.

It is suggested by numerous organizations that you remain patient for the election results, and take some time to consider what your role is in society in this moment of massive social change. Shared with KFNA by our friends at Take Action MN, we would like to share the following resource with you from The Building Movement Project, which can help you reflect on your role, and the best fit for you in the weeks and months ahead. Every one of us can play a part in effecting social change and every one of us is needed to do so; figure out where you fit in.

Remember, KFNA will be available all day, election day, outside the park serving hot coffee and free conversation. Feel free to stop by and chat and we’ll be happy to discuss where you feel you best fit into this movement at this moment. We will also work to keep you updated in the coming weeks, about events and opportunities to express your  1st Amendment Rights to gather and protest, should those actions be needed.  [Read more…]
