Community solar gardens have quickly become a hot topic among Minneapolis Neighborhoods. On April 30th, the City of Minneapolis and the Metro Clean Energy Resource Team will host a free workshop for up to 2 participants from each Minneapolis neighborhood to learn about community solar gardens. This workshop will provide learning opportunities for participants at all levels of understanding and will include the following topics:
- Basic information on Xcel Energy’s solar garden program
- Roles that neighborhoods can play
- How to make smart decisions that reflect each neighborhood’s goals and priorities.

Registration:
Each neighborhood is allowed to register up to two participants. Space is limited to 80 attendees and registration will happen on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration is online at http://mpls-solargarden-workshop.eventbrite.com. Registration is due by Friday, April 10th.
Choosing Participants:
Ideal participants are individuals who can represent their neighborhood’s goals and priorities, and who will be able to bring what they’ve learned back to their organization and community. Participants can be board members, association staff, or passionate residents. It will be up to each neighborhood organization to choose two participants to represent their neighborhood.
