DO NOT MAIL YOUR MINNESOTA ABSENTEE BALLOT

October 30, 2020 By Sarah

Please SHARE this post with those you care about all across Minnesota.

Long story short, Minnesota Voters: due to an 8th Circuit Court ruling this week, DO NOT MAIL your absentee ballot.

You have THREE options at this point, if you already have an absentee ballot to return:
  1. You may drop off your completed ballot by 3:00 pm on Tuesday 3 November at an authorized drop-off center–including the election office that sent you your ballot. You can also drop off ballots for three other people.
  2. You may vote early in-person. Every county in Minnesota has at least one early in-person vote center.
  3. You may vote in-person at your local polling place on Election Day from 7:00 am – 8:00 pm.

If you already mailed your ballot, track its progress here: https://mnvotes.sos.state.mn.us/AbsenteeBallotStatus.aspx.  Absentee ballots already accepted by the counties are fine, and no action need be taken.

If your ballot is not received by the night of Monday 2 November, you are encouraged to go to your local polling place and cast your vote in person on 3 November. This is legal. After voting in person, the unique ballot ID number on your original absentee ballot will be invalidated, so that if it is returned to the election office the officials will not count it—even if it arrives by 8:00 pm on Tuesday 3 November.

Find your authorized drop-off center(s) and early vote center(s) in Minnesota by contacting your county’s election office:

Find your local polling place: https://pollfinder.sos.state.mn.us/

We encourage you to copy the above and share on your own social media wall. Please share this far and wide. EVERY vote to counts!

For Kingfield (and all of Minneapolis), here are your drop-off centers: https://vote.minneapolismn.gov/voters/ballot-drop-off/…
