The folks from Beacon Interfaith Housing Collaborative (that run our Nicollet Square) are asking for help tomorrow (Friday, 2/25/16) anytime between 8am and noon!  They are furnishing an apartment building that serves young families (head of household is between the ages of 18 and 24) with kids. In the past, families have had to find their own furniture, but Beacon was able to find funding to get new, safe furnishings.
A delivery truck will be at the apartment building, located at 3146 Cedar Ave S, from 8:00-10:00am so they are asking (pleading, even) for volunteers to help unload everything in that window of time. In addition, they have an empty unit that will be used to assemble some of the furniture. People who come between 8 and 10 will help unload the truck and move items inside, anyone who wants to help between 10 and 12 could help assemble the furniture.
Volunteers can just show up whenever it works for them (between 8 and noon) to help out with whichever tasks are available!  Have questions? Contact Jenny Lock, Services Partnership Manager – Youth Programs, at 612.823.0122 X102 or e-mail her:Â
