Save the Boards is a grassroots movement with the goal of preserving and sharing the artwork created by residents on boarded storefronts in the weeks following the murder of George Floyd. KFNA became connected to Save the Boards a number of months after the Uprising through a Kingfield youth resident, and donated the 7 plywood boards the organization had painted by local youth to them. KFNA believes in the importance of using this art as a launching point for discussions and reflections on race, equality, and systemic change, and has a partnership with Save the Boards funded by the City of Minneapolis.
