Comment on initial long-term plans for dozens of SW MPLS parks by the end of the month
On Feb. 1, 2019, the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) published initial concept plans for more than 40 Southwest Minneapolis neighborhood park properties. Since then, more than 500 comments have been submitted through the online survey.

Park Design Concepts
Two park concepts were created for most properties (only one concept was created for some small assets.
Parks: Armatage, Bryant Square, Clinton Field, Dell, Fuller, Kenny, Kenwood
Triangles/Etc: 28th Street Tot Lot, Alcott, Chowen, Elmwood, Fremont, Gladstone
Parkways/Trails: Kings Highway, Kenwood Parkway
Parks: Linden Hills, Lyndale Farmstead, Lynnhurst, Mueller, Painter, Park Siding, Pershing Field
Triangles/Etc: Levin, Lyndale School Pool, Penn Model Village
Parkways/Trails: Linden Hills Boulevard, Loon Lake Trolley Path
Parks: Reserve Block 40, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Stevens Square, The Mall, The Parade, Thomas Lowry, Washburn Fair Oaks, Whittier, Windom South
Triangles/Etc: Rustic Lodge, Smith, St. Louis, Vineland, Washburn Avenue Tot Lot, Waveland, West End
Community members have proposed several locations for potential new parks or trails in Southwest Minneapolis.
Next Meeting: The next Community Advisory Committee (CAC) meeting is scheduled Tuesday, April 23, 2019, 6-8 pm at Lyndale Farmstead Recreation Center, 3900 Bryant Ave. S.
During this meeting, CAC members will discuss the big questions that were uncovered during development of initial park concept designs and provide direction to the project team. All CAC meetings are open to the public and anyone interested in the refinement of these park concepts is encouraged to attend!
