KFNA Board Meeting and Quarterly Crime Update

Wednesday, November 8th, 7:00 PM

MLK Park, 4055 Nicollet Avenue South, Minneapolis

The KFNA Board meets the 2nd Wednesday of each month, meaning in November it will be November 8, at 7 PM, MLK Park. This month our guest will be Jennifer Waisanen, Kingfield’s Crime Prevention and Safety Specialist, who will present the quarterly crime statistics for the neighborhood. She is also happy to answer questions related to crime trends and patterns, and safety precautions you can take to protect your home, car, and person.

We expect this conversation to last about 1/2 hour. If there is a significant amount of interest we can check schedules and find a time in the near future to continue the conversation. If you have crime and safety concerns or want to be invited to this future session contact Cheryl@kingfield.org.

Street Repaving Assessments: Avoid the Interest Fee and Pay Now

If your block was resurfaced this summer, your property was assessed for street resurfacing. Assessments of more than $150 are collected in five annual principal installments on the real estate tax statements beginning in 2018. Interest is charged on the assessments at a 3.9% rate. Want to avoid paying 3.9% interest? You can prepay your entire amount starting in November through the end of 2017. Call 612.673.2401 for a pay statement.

The City of Minneapolis will not be sending or publishing any further notices about prepayment for this street resurfacing assessment, but because KFNA cares about its neighbors, we’re reminding you here!
