2a) Did you know that YOU can run for a seat on the Kingfield Neighborhood Association Board?

Who Me?
Yes, YOU, most likely! Anyone 18 or older who rents, owns property, or manages a business between 36th-46th Street South, and from Lyndale Avenue to 35W is eligible for a seat on the board.

If you’re passionate, committed, and energized about our neighborhood and its future, you’re encouraged to apply, though KFNA specifically seeks to foster the leadership of people in whom neighborhood organizations have historically underinvested: people who rent, and people who identify as BIPOC (black, indigenous, people of color), LGBTQ+, youth, and seniors.

Why Would I Want to Run for the KFNA Board?
Because you care about your community! The KFNA Board of Directors works to support and promote the common good of the Kingfield neighborhood, through grassroots organizing around neighborhood issues, hosting and promoting events that build community, and ensuring our communal voice is heard.

How Do I Apply to Run for the Board?
Visit www.KINGFIELD.ORG/BOARD to complete your application by midnight Wed. June 2nd.

What Are the Key Dates?:

  • Applications are due by midnight June 2.
  • Applicants will attend the KFNA Annual Meeting on Wednesday June 9, 7-9 PM to introduce yourself to the neighborhood.
  • Applicants understand that meetings are held every 2nd Wednesday and they will make it a priority to attend.

If you are interested in applying for a position on the Board of Directors submit this application form by June 2nd, 2021. If you want to meet or talk with a KFNA Board member to learn more before you do, please contact info@kingfield.org.

Read more about the responsibilities of KFNA Board Members here: KFNA Board of Directors_ 2021 Roles & Responsibilities-3

2b) Proposed Bylaw Changes 2021

The Kingfield Neighborhood Association has redrafted their organizational bylaws to comply with State Laws and new City of Minneapolis funding guidelines for neighborhood associations. On the KFNA website are links to:

  • an Executive Summary outlining the key differences between the two documents,
  • the proposed, amended and restated Kingfield Neighborhood Association Bylaws 2021, and
  • a copy of the current 2020 Bylaws, if you care to compare the two versions.

Read details here.

The KFNA Board of Directors has approved the amended and restated Kingfield Neighborhood Association Bylaws 2021 and will present them to the community for a vote to accept, or deny, the entire set of Bylaws at the Annual Meeting on June 9, 2021. Voting will be online and will remain open for 7 days and you will find it at the link where you can cast your vote for open seats on the Board of Directors.

2c) Proposed KFNA NRP Plan Modification

The Kingfield Neighborhood Association (KFNA) Board of Directors is requesting that Members of the Association vote to approve a KFNA NRP Plan Modification to move $75,100 to support future Affordable Housing projects and $79,500 to support the administrative and organizing work of our organization for the coming year. These two funding moves are bundled together into one Kingfield NRP Plan Modification vote totaling $154,600.

Moving this amount of funding requires community input, so KFNA requests that Members vote online in conjunction with the Annual Election for the Board of Directors between June 9 and June 16, 2021 and vote YES if you support moving this funding, or NO if you are opposed to this NRP Plan modification. Questions can be directed to Sarah Linnes-Robinson, KFNA Executive Director at 612-823-5980 or info@kingfield.org and you can learn more here.
