Nicollet Pop-Off #3: Mycelium/My Community Mural @34th with Twisted Hare

The Lyndale and Kingfield Neighborhood Associations are partnering with local artist Hibaaq Ibrahim from Moon Juice Arts and the Fortune Relief and Youth Empowerment Organization, FRAYEO, to paint a new mural outside of Twisted Hare (3401 Nicollet, on north side of building)!

On August afternoons 11th-13th, Hibaaq will be painting the mural along with youth involved in FRAYEO’s local peacebuilding trainings. Neighbors are always invited to stop by! Plus on Saturday August 13th, there will be a community celebration involving food, music, hair braiding, Kubb playing, a mini farmers market and more! More information provided closer to the event.

Check out Hibaaq’s other work on Instagram @moonjuiceart, or visit her website at moonjuicemurals.com.  At Twisted Hare on 3401 Nicollet, her design will focus on mushroom and mycelium! We can’t wait to see the process and hope that neighbors will join us the week of the painting and for the final celebration on August 13th! Questions? Contact .

Support for this project is provided by the City of Minneapolis Great Streets Program.

NNO is coming August 2nd… do you know where your ice cream is?

Bringing back the traditional of Kingfield Neighborhood Association biking to block parties to connect with neighbors and deliver Nicollet Pothole Ice Cream, developed in collaboration with our very own Kingfield Commissary, Sebastian Joe’s!, the KFNA Board will be working their way across Kingfield  on Tuesday August 2nd.

Due to staffing changes at KFNA, we can’t promise to get to every registered block party, but we will try! If you have issues or concerns that your block is dealing with and to make sure we hear your voices and concerns please email and put “Neighborhood Concern” in the subject line. Please tell us your name, your block, and the issue you are dealing with. If we can’t make it to your block party, we will follow up directly later in the month.

It’s A Kingfield Polling Party!

Come to vote, stay for the lemonade and community chatter!

As you know, Kingfield has a great voting tradition, and the Kingfield Neighborhood Association hosts an outdoor polling party at MLK Park to greet neighbors with beverages and treats generously donated by area businesses and neighbors throughout the day while the polls are open. All of Kingfield (and Kingfield only) votes at MLK Park, so it is a great day to bump elbows with neighbors.

Even though it’s a state primary, we expect over 1000 Kingfield neighbors to come to MLK Park on August 9th to vote, and we’d love your help in welcoming them!

Please sign up to bake or greet August 9th! See available shifts and roles here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e0849a8a62ea1fe3-20221

Kingfield has always shown up for each other. 💛 An Kingfield has always shown up for each other. 💛
And right now, that togetherness matters.

On Sunday, February 8, neighbors will gather for Kingfield Empty Bowls—sharing soup, choosing handmade bowls, and supporting local nonprofits fighting food injustice and increasing housing access in our community.

It’s about sharing space, being together, and taking care of one another in small but meaningful ways.

We’d love to see you there.
