The KFNA Board meets monthly to oversee the programs, and projects of the Kingfield Neighborhood Association; the neighborhood’s nonprofit focuses on community engagement, awareness and education of City issues, and developing local leadership. Neighbors are also ways welcome to join the monthly meeting, held on Zoom since April 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Meetings are also recorded and shared on YouTube for those that cannot attend in person.
Garden Tool Swap
Spring is officially here! To celebrate many of us are turning towards our home and our green spaces. When cleaning out your storage, hang on to unused yard tools and gardening items.
Minneapolis Solid Waste & Recycling and community partners will be holding the first ever city-wide swap event of garden tools and plant related equipment. From first time gardeners to those with green thumbs, all are welcome at this free event.
- All items are intended to be given and taken freely. Garden tools and equipment are not for sale at this event.
- Please be respectful of your neighbors. Take only what you need so everyone can participate.
- Wear face coverings and maintain at least 6 feet distance from others.
What can you swap?
- Garden and yard tools (shovels, trowels, rakes, pitchforks, hoses, etc.)
- Pots and planters (wood, terracotta, decorative plastic)
- Potting soil/mix
- Gardening and plant books
- Garden art and décor
- Bird houses and feeders
What can’t you swap?
- Chemicals of any kind (fertilizers, pesticides, etc.)
- Mower or power tools
- Broken items
- Items too large to carry
Chalk-n-Walk Weekends

COVER OUR SIDEWALKS IN ART!
Now is the perfect weather to show off your sidewalk chalk drawing skills. Please join our Kingfield neighbors in creating Chalkscapes each weekend in April. Then dust off your hands and knees and take a walk around to view your neighbor’s art.
Get out and be in community: draw, walk, enjoy your neighbors and the sunshine. Borrow chalk on weekends from either Royal Grounds or Butter Bakery. Use it out front of these shops, or draw your way from one site to the next.
