Facebook Event Link

We the People MN is hosting Act 3, “My Wicca sisterhood Wants to Hold a Rally” exploring the 1st Amendment to the US Constitution this coming Sunday January 29, 1-3 PM at Solomon’s Porch, 100 West 46th Street. Please visit the Facebook event page and let us know if you will be attending. If you cannot attend the event we will have Facebook Live streaming it from the We the People MN Facebook Page (NOT the FB Group, a FB page just set up for this reason) so be sure to visit and “like” it so you can watch. Suggested readings are listed on the Facebook Event page/Discussion section.

Act 3 will be led by Elizabeth Glidden. First elected in 2005, Elizabeth is Vice President of the Minneapolis City Council, where she has focused on neighborhood development and wealth building, race equity organizational structures, the arts, workplace policies and energy and environment. Prior to her service on the city council, Elizabeth represented individuals for over ten years as a workers rights and civil rights lawyer at Hedin, Goldberg & Glidden P.A.

All events are FREE, but free-will donations will be collected to offset minor costs. All remaining donations will be given to organizations that protect civil liberties and voting rights.

Everyone is welcome!

Kingfield Empty Bowls Planning Team Meeting

Come join us for last minute planning for Kingfield’s largest event of the year, Kingfield Empty Bowls! This communal soup supper is organized and hosted by KFNA as a fundraiser for Nicollet Square located in Kingfield neighborhood, a project of Beacon Interfaith Housing and home to 42 youth that have experienced long term homelessness before being welcomed to our neighborhood.

We will be prepping for our final community paint-a-bowl event, figuring out volunteer needs, and analyzing event needs including food and pottery. We are still seeking donations of pottery—if you are a potter, or know one, and have 1-100 ceramic bowls to deliver please contact us, we really need your support and are willing to pick-up donations if needed!

Paint-a-Bowl for Kingfield’s 2017 Empty Bowls!

Come paint-a-bowl at the MLK Park for Kingfield’s February 9th Empty Bowl’s event. We will be painting some of the 225 bowls created at the Throwdown hosted by Uptown Clay. This is a free activity for anyone that would like to paint a bowl; we do ask that kids under twelve years old participate with a parent. Bowls will be glazed and then used at the Kingfield Empty Bowls fundraiser for Nicollet Square, a 42-unit housing complex in Kingfield for youth ages 18-22 that have experienced long-term homelessness.

Ceramic artists can drop off their already made bowls to donate to this event (and at the paint another while you do so) on this day too. If you would like us to arrange to pick up a donation please contact KFNA’s Executive Director at or 612.823.5980.

KFNA’s Newly Formed Equity & Outreach Community Committee Meeting

This group began meeting after the 2016 Presidential Election and is committed to making Kingfield a safer, more inclusive neighborhood for everyone. Participation on the task force is open to anyone interested in making a positive difference in our community; we are particularly interested in recruiting members from historically underrepresented groups. People of color, LGBTQ+, and people with disabilities are strongly encouraged to participate.

Start the year off by showing your support! Yard signs designed by KFNA’s Equity and Outreach Committee now available Butter Bakery Cafe, 3700 Nicollet, for a suggested donation of $10! Able to donate more? Please do, so that neighbors that cannot afford a donation are able to take a sign too!

Questions? Contact KFNA at .

Kingfield has always shown up for each other. 💛 An Kingfield has always shown up for each other. 💛
And right now, that togetherness matters.

On Sunday, February 8, neighbors will gather for Kingfield Empty Bowls—sharing soup, choosing handmade bowls, and supporting local nonprofits fighting food injustice and increasing housing access in our community.

It’s about sharing space, being together, and taking care of one another in small but meaningful ways.

We’d love to see you there.
