Uptown Clay Holiday Open House & Artisan Sale

Friday December 2nd from 5:00-9:00 PM

&

Saturday, December 3rd from 12:00-6:00 PM

People are becoming more focused on supporting locally grown and made products. Buying art, crafts and food directly from the maker or grower, is becoming more and more popular. The art and craft of pottery evokes a simpler time and by incorporating it into daily life, pottery allows people to reconnect to the value and beauty of everyday objects.

Fourteen outstanding neighborhood potters and ceramic artists are having their annual Holiday Sale at their neighborhood pottery gallery and studio, Uptown Clay.  These artists support KFNA’s Empty Bowls work by hosting an annual pottery throwdown at their studio and by firing the finished bowls for our paint-a-bowl events.   The artists invite you can stop by Friday December 2th from 5:00-9:00 PM and Saturday, December 3rd from 12:00-6:00 PM at the studio on 2845 Harriet Avenue They will be serving wine and lite snacks and would love to see you. Check their website www.Uptownclay.com or Facebook Page https://www.facebook.com/Uptownclay/ for details.

Paint-a-Bowl for Kingfield Empty Bowls

Come paint-a-bowl at the ColorWheel Gallery for Kingfield’s February 9th  2017 Empty Bowl’s event, which benefits Nicollet Square Housing! We will be painting some of the 234 bowls created at the October Pottery Throwdown hosted by Uptown Clay!

This is a free activity for anyone that would like to paint a bowl; we do ask that kids under twelve years old participate with a parent. Bowls will be glazed and then used at the Kingfield Empty Bowls fundraiser for Nicollet Square, a 42-unit housing complex in Kingfield for youth ages 18-22 that have experienced long-term homelessness.

Ceramic Artists: You can also drop off their already made bowls to donate to this event with Tammy at the ColorWheel on this day too! If this date doesn’t work for you donations can be dropped off at the Colorwheel Gallery, 319 West 46th Street, most afternoons beginning now and continuing until January 30 (please leave your contact information and receipt for the number of items donated so we can get you a tax form). Contact the Gallery Owner, Tammy Ortegon at 612-823-5693 to make sure she can meet you at the shop.
