The Minneapolis Organics Recycling Training Sessions will be held on April 9 with either a morning or afternoon training session option.  In the morning at Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Park from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. or there is an afternoon session at Folwell Park from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. You can RSVP to Kellie Kish,.
We will review what can and cannot be accepted in organics recycling, offer several tips to make organics recycling easy for you and your neighbors, and the City’s organics recycling processor will explain the composting process. We’ll also be launching our Recycling Block Leader program and offering free kitchen organics collection pails to all attendees.

This special Garden Kick-off Event will take place at The Aliveness Project (3808 Nicollet) in the 2nd floor community room. The event includes a tasting, a brief nutrition presentation, a prize drawing, and the opportunity to meet Hennepin County Master Gardener and Kingfield neighbor Mollie Dean.
Regular Class Sessions will include: Hennepin County Master Gardeners will guide you through an entire vegetable growing season until harvest time, addressing all your home garden questions. Sessions will feature hands-on activities working the common communal plot at the park. At the first meeting, participants and Master Gardeners together will determine a schedule for helping in the garden at times outside the scheduled sessions. Produce grown will benefit the food shelf at the Aliveness Project, a nonprofit organization serving community members living with HIV/AIDS.

With a city-wide protected bikeway plan, an expanding list of streets with bicycle lanes, and creative plans for modifying streets to better serve walkers and bicyclists, bicycling opportunity for casual riders is on the rise in Minneapolis.
