Meeting Regarding Replacement of the 40th St Pedestrian Bridge over 35W

Tuesday November 3, 6:00 pm, Martin Luther King Park, 4055 Nicollet Ave S

The City of Minneapolis and MnDOT are coordinating a meeting to discuss replacement of the 40th Street pedestrian bridge.

The City of Minneapolis and MnDOT are planning to replace the 40th Street pedestrian bridge in coordination with the construction of the 35W Transit Access project and related freeway improvements.  The bridge replacement project provides the opportunity to improve the overall design of the bridge to better accommodate the combined pedestrian and bicycle use while also improving the aesthetics of the bridge.  This meeting will share the project with the community and seek input from neighbors.

If you have questions please contact Public Works Transportation Planning and Programming Director Jenifer Hager at or via 311.

46th Street Study, an Informational Meeting

Next summer, Hennepin County is planning to repave 46th Street South from Lyndale to Cedar Avenues. Travel safety and other concerns have been raised about this stretch of road, and the paving project provides an opportunity to make improvements along the roadway for vehicular traffic, bicyclists, and pedestrians.

A working group has been established to study the transportation issues in this area, and to examine modifications that could be implemented with the paving project. The group consists of county and city staffs with representatives from the Field-Regina-Northrup, Kingfield, and Tangletown neighborhoods.

Kingfield has always shown up for each other. 💛 An Kingfield has always shown up for each other. 💛
And right now, that togetherness matters.

On Sunday, February 8, neighbors will gather for Kingfield Empty Bowls—sharing soup, choosing handmade bowls, and supporting local nonprofits fighting food injustice and increasing housing access in our community.

It’s about sharing space, being together, and taking care of one another in small but meaningful ways.

We’d love to see you there.
