Claire Sand is thrilled to join the Kingfield Neighborhood Association board as a new member since June 2026. A Kingfield resident since late 2025, Claire was immediately drawn to the neighborhood’s sense of community, open-mindedness, and wonderful parks. You might spot her at UpYoga or Yoga Sanctuary, Clancy’s, Driftwood. is a favorite escape.
Claire is an hobby-artist and outdoor enthusiast and is creating encaustic paintings, mosaics, and doing pottery at Fuller Park and now MLK, and spending as much time as possible not working – kayaking, hiking, biking, and SUPing and traveling.ย She has 2 adult children and is a grandmother.
Professionally, Claire is semi-retired and a scientist, consultant, and former professor.ย She has been working in food packaging innovation for ~40 years focusing on building a more sustainable food system. She has degrees in Food Science from the University of Minnesota and in Packaging from Michigan State University.
