Kingfield’s 2024 Empty Bowl Event on Souper Bowl Sunday

January 31, 2024 By Josh Martin

The 13th Annual Kingfield Empty Bowls is a SOUPer Event on Super Bowl Sunday, February 11! We will be gathering as a community and serving a pregame lunch on site from 10:30 AM – 2 PM. This year’s event is hosted by Judson Church, 4101 Harriet Avenue South Minneapolis. We are looking for volunteers for before–during–and after the event to help!

Kingfield Empty Bowls is an event that brings the community together to share a meal of homemade soup and bread donated by local restaurants out of handmade bowls donated by local artists. At this event we accept a donation from all diners and the proceeds are shared between Nicollet Square, a housing option for formerly homeless youth that provides both efficiency apartments and social/emotional and job support, TRUST Meal on Wheels, a community-based service that promotes health and independence for elders by providing daily, nutritious food as well as human connection, and the Kingfield Neighborhood Association for supporting their work in affordable housing.

For a suggested donation of $25, you can eat a delicious dinner and take the bowl home as a reminder of the event!

Volunteer to work a shift — it’s a fun way to be part of the event, and build connections with the other amazing neighbors!
