KFNA Board Meeting with Special Presentation by City Clerk Casey Carl

Join KFNA for an overview of the Charter, the role of the commission, a discussion about why so many amendments are coming forward lately, and an explanation of how that process happens. Plus hear a brief overview of the three charter amendments on the ballot this year.

Up to 15 minutes will be allotted for Q & A and then the regular Board Meeting will carry on following the presentation.

We Are Kingfield/We Vote: sign preparation event

Seeking Volunteers for “We Are Kingfield/We Vote Sign Preparation”

It is time to get our yard signs ready!

(Note, don’t get confused by this date on the image! This photo was taken at last year’s event as this year’s election day is November 2nd!)

We need a dozen folks to clean and attach new date stickers, and a few people with large vehicles to help transport signs to the KFNA office.  Sign haulers could join closer to 11:30 and all should be done by 12:30 PM.

Harvesting is happening in earnest!  Join us to pick bush beans and thyme, as well as learn more about the garden. Join KFNA garden volunteers each week to learn something new and connect in your community.

Community Engagement Event @ Lake & Nicollet & Wells Fargo Site!

Join the 3rd Community Engagement Session on Thursday July 8.

The Theme for this weeks Community Sessions for the Lake and Nicollet, Wells Fargo redevelopment is: Culture and Community: How we use space. We will share examples of the locations around the world where public space is celebrated and ask them to share the ways that they use public space. This will be led by a diverse group of community advocates and activists.

We will also make the event available online at ZOOM. Please register for the ONLINE edition of the July 8 meeting here

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting. Food will be served following COVID Safe protocols and will be available beginning at 6:00 pm. Food will be provided by Caano Kitchen and Zamaya Delicious

Background: Wells Fargo has selected a developer and is selling the land to Project for Pride in Living (PPL). The development of the 2-acre site will include at least 200 units of affordable housing, commercial space, and a branch bank of Wells Fargo. The dates for the virtual community engagement sessions are:

And right now, that togetherness matters.

On Sunday, February 8, neighbors will gather for Kingfield Empty Bowls—sharing soup, choosing handmade bowls, and supporting local nonprofits fighting food injustice and increasing housing access in our community. 

It’s about sharing space, being together, and taking care of one another in small but meaningful ways.

We’d love to see you there.
