Ceramic Throw Down AND Paint-a-Bowl 12/29 at Fuller Park

Watch artists throw ceramic bowls, learn about Fuller Park’s Ceramics Programs…AND Paint-a-Bowl for Kingfield’s Feb. 7th Empty Bowls event which raises funds for Nicollet Square, an affordable housing option for youth experiencing longterm homelessness.

On Saturday, December 29, several artists will be throwing bowls at Fuller Park (4802 Grand Ave S) as we prepare for our annual event. Come and learn about ceramics and watch some great talent at work!

Also, we will have completed bowls, made by other local artists, that are in need of painting. This is a free, fun activity for the whole family – we provide the glaze, you provide your artistic vision (or just sponge it). All are welcome, and no experience is needed; recommended for ages 6 and up (ages under 12 must be accompanied by an adult); one bowl per person. Plus, we will have free popcorn and hot cocoa!

Your artwork will be on display at the 2019 Kingfield Empty Bowls Event, February 7th, at MLK Park (4055 Nicollet Ave S) benefiting Nicollet Square which provides housing and support for young adults who have experienced homelessness or been in the foster care system. From Plaid Friday to Small Business Saturday…and Beyond!

Kingfield is so full of small, unique shops that we aren’t going to list them all (for fear of leaving one of them out!)  So this Friday and Saturday, and heck, why not all holiday season?, think about supporting our many locally-owned, independently-run, one-of-a-kind businesses before you order online or visit a big box or chain store.  In Kingfield you can find handcrafted gifts, handmade food, and heartfelt experiences offered by your neighborhood restaurants and shops…often gift-wrapped and handed across to the counter to you from one of your very own Kingfield neighbors and shop owners!

Live your values. Support your community. And shop local this year!

The 15th Kingfield Empty Bowls was a big success! The 15th Kingfield Empty Bowls was a big success! A HUGE thank you to the 750 people who attended, the many volunteers, partner nonprofits, donating restaurants and ceramics studios, accordionist Thor Anderson, neighborhood baking volunteers, and Judson Memorial for being the most gracious host. KFNA will be donating back a record amount to trustincmpls, Beacon Interfaith Housing Collaborative, and tcfoodjustice. Stay tuned for updates on how to get involved for year 16!

Kingfield has always shown up for each other. 💛 An Kingfield has always shown up for each other. 💛
And right now, that togetherness matters.

On Sunday, February 8, neighbors will gather for Kingfield Empty Bowls—sharing soup, choosing handmade bowls, and supporting local nonprofits fighting food injustice and increasing housing access in our community.

It’s about sharing space, being together, and taking care of one another in small but meaningful ways.

We’d love to see you there.
