Town Hall Meeting/Legislative Update with Rep. Allen & Sen. Hayden (62-B)

Dear Kingfield Neighbors,

Join Rep. Susan Allen, Senator Jeff Hayden and Rep. Karen Clark for a Town Hall Meeting. The 2017 legislative session began on January 3rd, with Republicans now in control of both chambers. Please join them to ask questions and gain insights and help them organize for the issues you care about, as well as other issues likely to arise.

It is important for them to hear directly from you, and it helps guide their decisions at the State Capitol.

Coffee and juice will be served, and attendees are welcome to come and go as you please.

Facebook Event Link

We the People MN is hosting Act 3, “My Wicca sisterhood Wants to Hold a Rally” exploring the 1st Amendment to the US Constitution this coming Sunday January 29, 1-3 PM at Solomon’s Porch, 100 West 46th Street. Please visit the Facebook event page and let us know if you will be attending. If you cannot attend the event we will have Facebook Live streaming it from the We the People MN Facebook Page (NOT the FB Group, a FB page just set up for this reason) so be sure to visit and “like” it so you can watch. Suggested readings are listed on the Facebook Event page/Discussion section.

Act 3 will be led by Elizabeth Glidden. First elected in 2005, Elizabeth is Vice President of the Minneapolis City Council, where she has focused on neighborhood development and wealth building, race equity organizational structures, the arts, workplace policies and energy and environment. Prior to her service on the city council, Elizabeth represented individuals for over ten years as a workers rights and civil rights lawyer at Hedin, Goldberg & Glidden P.A.

All events are FREE, but free-will donations will be collected to offset minor costs. All remaining donations will be given to organizations that protect civil liberties and voting rights.

Everyone is welcome!

Kingfield Empty Bowls Planning Team Meeting

Come join us for last minute planning for Kingfield’s largest event of the year, Kingfield Empty Bowls! This communal soup supper is organized and hosted by KFNA as a fundraiser for Nicollet Square located in Kingfield neighborhood, a project of Beacon Interfaith Housing and home to 42 youth that have experienced long term homelessness before being welcomed to our neighborhood.

We will be prepping for our final community paint-a-bowl event, figuring out volunteer needs, and analyzing event needs including food and pottery. We are still seeking donations of pottery—if you are a potter, or know one, and have 1-100 ceramic bowls to deliver please contact us, we really need your support and are willing to pick-up donations if needed!

Questions? Contact KFNA at .
